I haven't been updating nearly as much as I should, but I have my first art show in Wicker Park coming up!
My friend Brett Manning who is an amazing illustrator (she currently has her own collaboration with Obey clothing: shop.obeyclothing.com/c-179-ob… ) asked me to be a part of a show she's curating.
I will have 4 original art pieces on display - crazy kaleidoscopic ones that I call my "prismatic" designs - 2 BRAND NEW ones that are far more exciting than the original 2 or 3 I did. Also, Holga photos from the archives will be on display for the portraits part.
I'm really excited to be a part of this art show as I have admired in the past some of the artist's works who will be showing with me. It's nice to recognize that they are my contemporaries at this point and that maybe fine art was a path that I was supposed to follow down to some degree.
Old and new friends will be there - come out and say hello!
See a roster of all the artists and a little bio of them here: pnp2011.blogspot.com
Venue: The Garden (next to Handlebar)

Hard Lessons in the Creative World
Designers, Artists, Musicians, etc.:
Realize that anything you post online about yourself, statements about your work, etc. can be copy and pasted (without contextualizing your comments) ANYWHERE on the internet.
Unfortunately, these are the cons of living in the Internet Age. While I am excited about the fact that this broadens opportunities for people to get involved in getting their thoughts and writing to a wider audience (like me), it also diminishes the amount of professionalism that you will encounter. This is because ANYONE can be a "journalist" and have a "website" and post things about you, your work, or anything you type without
Officially
I can officially consider myself a "fashion designer" now. Freelance, but shhh!
In September, I wrapped up working on a webseries called the "Legend of SPRADA" with Spencer Gartner's character, SPRADA (a drag queen) as the main character. From June to September my life was literally like an episode of Project Runway as each week we were working on a new look for the series. SPRADA is a fictional character from England who is trying to "make it in America" in the world of fashion through photo shoots, modeling, etc. Some garments were found and edited and a few are original for SPRADA's character (the red palazzo pants, the garbage bag dress,
